Spiritual shepherd, ministerial and business visionary Bishop Reuben Timothy Jones, Jr. was born and reared in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received his education in the Philadelphia School System.  He is the eldest child of Bishop R.T. Jones, Sr. and Mother R.T. Jones, Sr., founders of Christian Tabernacle COGIC of Philadelphia, Pa.   Being obedient to the voice of God, Bishop Jones acknowledged his call to ministry and began preaching in 1959.  The late O. T. Jones Sr. ordained him in September of 1962.  In 1973, Pastor Jones founded Christian Tabernacle COGIC of Chester, Pa where he served as Pastor for nine years.  In 1990, he became Pastor of Christian Tabernacle COGIC of Philadelphia, Pa after the untimely death of his father, Bishop R. T. Jones, SR.

He attended Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and the Reformed Episcopal Seminary.  In 1996, he was honored by the Martha's Vineyard Seminary with a Doctor of Divinity Degree.  Also in 1996, he was presented the "Speak up for America" Award.  His consecration to the Bishopric occurred in 1975 with the Church of God in Christ International, Inc. by the late Bishop I.G. Jefferson.

As a man of vision, Bishop Jones is revered by many as a dynamic man of wisdom, leadership, integrity and compassion.  In addition to his commitment to Christian Tabernacle COGIC as senior pastor, Bishop Jones has served his community in numerous capacities that include: service to Temple University Health Services, and Chairman on the Community Planning Committee.  He also serves in various positions on an array of boards including: the Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC), founded in 1964 by the late Rev Leon Sullivan and others.  His secular work includes Philadelphia Police Department and Philadelphia Housing Authority.  He also served his country in Military services in the United States Marine Corp.  He is the Father of six children and the proud grandfather of Seven.

Bishop Jones' ministry delivers a message a hope and love in the midst of dying world.  His messages teach that we have a hope in Christ Jesus who is the "author and finisher of our faith."  His charismatic style, scriptural approach and anointed ministry of song are inclusive of his methods to stimulate the hearts and minds of those searching for their "way out." Through his anointed messages, yokes have been broken penetrating stone hearts and convincing the ungodly that God is love and he is able to save anybody.  He is recognized as one of the great preachers this generation with a message that ministers to the whole person and brings together people of various backgrounds, age groups and ethnicities.  Bishop Jones devotes his life to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He faithfully seeks to be led by the anointing of the Holy Ghost, through which people are saved, healed, and delivered.
